There are some
great fish finders available today.
If you enjoy fishing using a boat, you should have a fishfinder.
How many times
have you gone fishing and come home fishless. You spend all that hard earned
pay on your equipment, Jump out on the lake find your place and pray there are
fish around. Then after hours of nothing, you head home after a great day of
boating and casting. A fish finder puts an end to all that.
If
you use a fish finder, you can
be reeling them in minutes after finding your fishing hole.
When you boot up
your fishfinder at sea, you will recognize that the display is quite easy to
interpret. The bottom of the display will show the layout of the bottom of the
lake directly beneath the boat, in monochrome or as with some of the newest
models crisp high resolution color. Some even have a 3D view capable of showing
a square section of the bottom. You will see how to differentiate objects and
ground clutter on the bottom. Then there are these funny little archs crusing
around in the view. These are our targets the fish.
The major fishfinder manufacturers
produce different firmware that runs a fish sonar. This results in the display
appearing a bit different, because of the sonar receiver interpretation among
the manufacturers, but they all perform exactly the same function. Fish Finder
manufacturers are always trying to stay on the leading edge to push the envelope
with the receiver and sonar technology with every new product that is released.
Many fish finders can decipher the fish arch and show an estimation of the mass
of the fish with a graphic representation of a fish and its
estimated size with a numerical value.
Now what about
the addition of GPS to the fish finder. The GPS
fish finder combo has made the enjoyment of the fish
finders even greater by providing the full range of functions of the average
GPS unit. You can mark way points, plot courses and remember the exact location
of
your favorite places, so you can return to that very spot at a later time.
