INTERPHASE
iSCAN V90 TH |
iSCAN V90.
Interphase’s iSCAN V90 Forward Looking Sonar, based on Interphase’s
proven and award winning phased-array technology, is the ideal navigation aid for cruisers, sport fishermen and many other types of recreational and light commercial vessels who want to “see
what’s ahead”. Sporting a wide sunlight-viewable color LCD, this compact unit allows boaters to see the
bottom ahead and submerged objects up to 1,200 feet forward of the vessel’s bow. With its sweeping vertical scan the Interphase iScan V90 continuously updates the forward looking display to show changing water depths, shoals, reefs, schools of bait, bottom
structure and other suspended objects like fish. It’s small easy-to-install phased-array transducer uses no moving parts and steers a 12-degree acoustic beam, in a vertical plane, from the surface ahead
and down to 600 feet below.
The new Interphase iScan V90 uses a wide format, brilliant sunlight viewable panoramic color display with a 16:9 aspect ratio adapted from high-end digital TV and computer monitors.
The wider screen improves the sonar’s ability to display more forward range and also several
split-screen displays such as sonar/digital data or traditional downlooking depthsounder displays on one
side, and the forwardlooking sonar scanning display on the other. The Interphase iScan V90 also operates as
a traditional, downward-looking sounder and in this mode includes a powerful Zoom feature that
provides detailed display of bottom contour and composition, as well as suspended fish targets. The vertical scanning sector on the Interphase iScan V90 can be adjusted from
its full 90-degrees down to 12-degrees and then the resulting sector can be steered to a desired location.
For example, navigators primarily concerned about seeing objects just beneath the surface,
can reduce the size of the scanning sector and then steer it to the surface to focus all of the sonar scanning
on that area. An adjustable forward looking alarm can be set to warn of upcoming objects and an
optional high volume external alarm, called the Interphase Super-Beep, is available.
The Interphase iScan V90 was designed for easy integration with onboard systems
and future expandability. NMEA 0183 ports are included to output digital depth information
and accept lat/lon and speed information from a GPS and NMEA temperature from other sources. Owners
can easily access the digital data on a split screen display while simultaneously viewing a forward scanning view. A remote unit is also available for second-station operation.
A video port is included for connecting cameras or other video devices. Using
the small Interphase View Cam camera, engine spaces, back decks and other onboard activities can
be conveniently monitored. Owners can even monitor underwater sea life and other activity beneath
their vessel by connecting the Interphase Fish Cam camera. And, with the optional Interphase
Multi-Video Switch owners can connect up to 4 cameras, or any combination of cameras and VCR/ DVD
players, and manually or automatically cycle between the different views.
With its USB and serial interfaces, the Interphase iScan V90 has been designed
for future expandability to connect with onboard computers and other equipment, even allowing
PCs or laptops to serve as a remote display/control for the Interphase iScan V90. Interphase
also offers free software
upgrades, which can be easily downloaded from their Webster so customers can
enjoy future
improvements and added features.
All this technology comes packaged in a compact, waterproof case that can be
flush mounted or
installed using the quick-disconnect bracket.
